Fun Things To Do When Visiting The City Of Carson California

Carson’s central location in Southern California, makes it a great starting point to see and do all that the area has to offer. With cities like Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Anaheim and Long Beach all within 30 minutes or less of Carson, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
You don’t have to go to far from where you are staying in Carson to have a good time. The Home Depot Center is located right in Carson on Avalon Boulevard. This is where the Major League Soccer teams the Chivas USA and the Los Angeles Galaxy (who David Beckham plays for) play their home games. There are also many world-famous singers and other musical acts that perform here throughout the year, so be sure to check out a concert calendar when planning your trip to Carson. For more sporty fun, be sure to visit Go Kart World on Recreation Road, just off I-405. Here you can race along six different tracks, have fun on the bumper car track or in the enormous arcade room. When having fun at Go Kart World don’t forget to be on the look out for celebs as many have been spotted here. In fact it is well-known that Kanye West loves this place and visits often.

Shoppers won’t be bored in Carson either as it has the South Bay Pavilion Mall, which features Target, Ikea, JC Penney, Big 5, The Children’s Place and Sears. Here you will also find restaurants like Tony Roma's Chilis, Panera Bread and SanSai Japanese Grill. For those who like to have fun by checking out antiques, a can’t miss in Carson is the Memory Lanes Antique Mall which is located on South Figueroa. This huge mall features more than 250 different antique stores all in one mall.

The Redondo Beach Pier is another popular attraction very close to Carson. This well-known destination is just six miles west of the Carson city center. Here you will find a wide variety of different shops and restaurants to enjoy, many with outdoor seating that allow you to take in the beautiful scenery as you dine. You can also spend the day at the beach where you can scuba, paddle board, kayak or surf. At night time the pier is also a fun spot where you can have drinks and dance at one of the great nightclubs. There are also concerts and festivals throughout the year, so be sure to check the Pier’s calendar when planning your trip.

Only 15 minutes directly southeast of Carson is Long Beach, which has its own long list of fun attractions. Some of the most popular attractions in Long Beach are Parker’s Lighthouse, the Museum of Latin American Arts, Seal Beach, the Queen Mary ship and the famous Aquarium of the Pacific Northeast. Just outside of Long Beach is a 160 acre theme park called Knott’s Berry Farm. Here, the whole family can enjoy over 38 rides and a water park too.

No trip to Carson is complete until you take the 20 minute drive up to the north side of Los Angeles to the Beverly Hills/Hollywood neighborhood. Here you can take a tour of celebrity homes (outside of them at least), go shopping on Rodeo Drive, check out the famous Venice Beach, La Brea Tar Pits, and the Chinese Theater and Walk of Fame. Also nearby in Burbank is the Universal Studios theme park and film studios.

A half hour trip directly east of Carson will take you to Anaheim. Anaheim is most famous for being the home of the Disneyland theme park and resort compound. Here you can enjoy two parks; the original Disneyland and the newly added Disney California Adventure Park. You can stay at the Disneyland Resort or check out Downtown Disney which features lots of different stores, restaurants and night clubs. Another thing Anaheim is famous for is being the home of the National Hockey League team the Mighty Ducks, who play their home games at the Honda Center.

There are also many activities you can enjoy on the miles and miles of beaches to the north, south and west of Carson. Some of these fun activities include kayaking tours, picnicking on the beach, surfing, surf lessons, bicycle rentals, boat charters and so much more.
